The battle against Jenni would have gone through three phases (two if they all survived). The first phase (the one you were at) had breakable mirrors, which allowed for characters to find each other quicker if they broke them. Jenni planned on taking advantages of her illusions to kill your characters one after the other.
At this point, Jenni would have relentlessly tried to kill Kobato with a copy of Zelda's sword. Kobato could have avoided her attacks for a short time, and Sephiroth and Zelda could have saved Kobato if they reached her in time. So in short, Kobato's survival depends on her ability to hold Jenni at bay and Sephiroth/Zelda being fast enough.
