Event: Cat and Mouse

On the morning of the 15th, characters will receive a letter from Wedge. The letter is pretty explicit: the Heroes of Light are expected to help and hunt the Moogle with the Black Mage hat. If you're new and don't know what's the deal with that Moogle, to make it short he is the one who brainwashed the Heroes of Light last month, stole their Crystals and attempted (maybe even succeeded) to revive an evil Moogle King. Given he brainwashed the Heroes of Light with one of the Black Crystals that was stolen from the Magitek Research Facility by imperial spies, his ties with the Empire are evident.
There will be no open log for this event. Characters participating in the event are expected to post their own logs, to which NPCs may reply. An open log will be posted if characters successfully locate the Moogle, after what they will be able to interrogate him and get answers. If they fail to locate him, the mission will be a failure and the Moogle will disappear.

If you want your character to participate to the event, you have to post a log in a city other than Aqures Ixen. After doing so, please reply to the NPC thread below, and the moderators will reply within the week with a NPC to your log. The NPCs will be for the most part totally random characters, inhabitants of the city who will end up giving a clue as to the location of the Moogle with the Black Mage hat. There is a 25% chance that said NPC will be a Doppelganger. There is also a chance that the NPC won't be a random one but a plot-related one.
However, please don't write your log for a NPC, as they may not take your prompts into account. Write it for your fellow players, as any general log you would post on any other occasions.
Once you got clues from a NPC, the next thing to do is use that clue to locate the Moogle with the Black Mage hat. He is somewhere on the world map, somewhere accessible for characters and if enough Heroes of Light get clues, together they may be able to find where he is. Feel free to use the "Clue" thread below to share clues your characters got and theorize as to where the Moogle may be. Outside of clues provided by NPCs, there will be no assistance given to locate the moogle: in short, you're on your own. Once you are confident as to its location, please contact the mods and we will tell you if you are correct.

There is a total of five cities characters can visit and get clues in: Balicea, Esdham, Flence, Trano Golsaucia and Aerilon. Additionally, Mognet Central can be visited if an Airship Pilot takes you there. There is a detailed page describing what can be done in every of these cities. Furthermore, there are a few special things happening within the next two weeks:
Esdham
People visiting Esdham this month will be have the possibility to watch; or maybe even to participate in a yearly competition held in the Coliseum: the Smash Tournament! Held from the 17th to the 25th of November, this tournament sees four fighters fighting each other in the coliseum, with the last one standing being the winner. Everything is permitted: the use of any weapon, tactic or even items: because the battles are completely unpredictable, this tournament is quite famous and successful.
It culminates in the final on the 25th of November. It is a nice relief for the local population, who otherwise lives with nothing but war.
Flence
Do you like fishing? Then visiting Flence from the 20th to the 29th of November may be a good idea, as there is a fishing competition held there. It is not a great event or anything, but it is very convivial and food that is otherwise atrociously expensive is free for those participating. If anything, this makes participating in the competition worth it. For those not participating, they can still watch for hours on as people wait desperately in the hope of catching the biggest fish of them all.
Balicea
There is unfortunately nothing of note happening to Balicea this month. But it's still a nice city to visit.
Trano Golsaucia
The one thing that may schock characters upon entering Trano Golsaucia from the 15th onward are the Christmas decorations: they're not all set just yet, but a whole lot of people are working on transforming the city into a literal Christmas Town. If asked, locals will say these are the preparations for the "Starlight Celebration," without a doubt this world's version of Christmas.
As such, encountering Christmas Trees or a couple people dressed up as Santa Claus shouldn't be surprising. Why is Santa Claus even a thing in this world? This will be explained next month...
Aerilon
People going to Aerilon can buy guns and all sort of non-primitive weapon, but this month it's Christmas before Christmas for all potential buyers. Indeed, with O'aka XXIV's Exceptional Early Winter Sales, the latest Imperial devices and machines are available for everyone, and at the lowest prices!
Magitek Armor -5 000 000 Gils 3 000 000 Gils! Only two left!
Crystal of Illusions -4 000 000 Gils 2 000 000 Gils!
Computer (translated from Ancient) -1 000 000 Gils 500 000 Gils!
Computer (untranslated) -800 000 Gils 350 000 Gils!
Gunner (job) -SOLD OUT Last one for 100 000 Gils!

• Double Exp
Anyone participating in this event will have double experience for the month. Practically speaking, this means their equipped Jobs will progress of two months instead of one!
• x1 Regain
Jessie will give a regain for free to all those who participated in getting clues if the Moogle is eventually caught. To be eligible for a free regain, players will have to provide proof of their character's active participation in the event if the event conclusion post indicates the Moogle was caught.
• New Job
A new Job will be available if enough characters pull their money together and buy the Gunner Job from O'aka XXIV in Aerilon before the end of the month.

As specified in Wedge's letter, Airship pilots will be able to use an Airship without having to abide by the regular schedule. It means characters can access Aerilon without wasting 2+ weeks in travel time, along with other locations that normally require a lot more work to be accessible. However, Esdham is still accessible only on foot or with a Chocobo back however.
