APRIL INFORMATION POST
Hello everyone, it's time for the monthly information post once again! Spring is finally upon us, meaning Aqures Ixen shall be a reasonable place to live in once again... For the next six months at least. This post details the small events that will punctuate this month, and also offers a conclusion for March's event. Should you have any questions regarding this month's happenings, please feel free to post them here.
Spring is Here || April 02nd
There are a lot of people who love snow. There are others who don't, not to mention the frigid temperatures. Well these people may now rejoice as Spring has finally reached Aqures Ixen! Starting on April 02nd, all the snow covering the city will slowly start to melt away and by the end of the week, Aqures Ixen will be back to normal. Those of you who like snow however, fear not: it's still snowing in Trano Golsaucia, and in this region both the snow and cold aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
The Choco Eggs: A Hypello Holiday || April 05th-06th
A Hypello Tradition is to hide chocolate eggs all over the houses and cities on April 05th and April 06th, for what they call "Choco Egg Days." A legend says that a speaking rabbit who was a close friend of Santa Claus hid plenty of Chocobo Eggs for children to find, back in the time of the battle against Calamity. Children were often lonely, their parents either dead or fighting to protect their world. But when the children found these eggs, first they were pleasantly surprised and then Chocobo Chicks came out from the eggs! And so, the children were no longer lonely.
Most people tend to dismiss this legend as a speaking rabbit hiding chocolate eggs is really far-fetched, but Hypellos find the suggestion that this is far-fetched offensive, not to mention they find this actually far more reasonable than the Santa Claus legend. As of today, of course Hypellos do not hide Chocobo Eggs. Instead, they hide Chocolate Eggs of varying size. And Moogles being their usual helpful selves, help them to do it.
On the 05th and 06th of April, your characters may find Chocolate Eggs about everywhere in the city: in their gardens, in the library, waiting for them on a shelf in a store, in the corner of a street, etc. It is well known that Hypellos and Moogles do this on this day, and as such your characters are free to keep any chocolate eggs they find, and eat them of course.
The Easter Eggs
There are fifteen special eggs hidden throughout the region of Aqures Ixen: the Easter Eggs. They are special eggs referencing the fifteen main Final fantasy installments. Each of them come with a gift, and finding all fifteen of them will unlock a new Job! In the context of the event, the Region of Aqures Ixen encompasses Aqures Ixen itself (map), the Monster Arena and the Chocobo Farm.
To participate, all you have to do is reply to the appropriate thread below and say where your character would look, and we will tell you if they will find an Easter Egg or not. However, you have only one guess per character. If your guess is wrong, it's game over. You also need to be specific: you cannot just say "My character will look around the 11th District," but "My character will look around the Old Weapon Shop in the 11th District." Use the Aqures Ixen Map and the page to help you think of locations!
All Easter Eggs have been found! The new Job will be posted on this Sunday for Easter, and will be offered to every characters, whether or not they had a chance to look for Easter Eggs.
Doppelgangers || April 17th
Overnight from April 16th to April 17th, the Heroes of Light will have a shared dream, however unlike the one in February where they were spectators watching through Kalki's eyes, they will be actors in this dream. They will find themselves in the body of a Hero of Light 2000 years ago, both witnessing events and reenacting something that happened back then. But these Heroes of Light won't be just anybody; they will be people from their homeworlds... Or maybe themselves.
Upon waking up from this dream, all participating Heroes of Light will receive a letter from Kalki with an address-- Unique for each of them...
Sign-ups will go up on April 10th, with more detailed information regarding the event. Each players can sign up one of their characters for this. We will send detailed instructions to each players signing-up for this, but note that the dream won't be something your character is just witnessing; the dream is interactive, and as such a log will go up on April 17th for you to play it out.
The Enterprise || April 25th
The Heroes of Light managed to flee from the Research Facility last month, and while doing so they took with them Cid and his Airship: the Enterprise. It is a very special airship that can reach areas where other airships cannot. Unfortunately, it was damaged during the escape and it needs to be repaired. It may take weeks, maybe even months, but if it is repaired, an entirely new area of the World will be open to the Heroes of Light - the Continent of Ruin.
Cid will contact the Heroes of Light on Mognet around the 25th, to ask them for help in repairing the airship. He will offer the Airship to the Heroes of Light as a whole, and as such they will be free to use the Enterprise however they see fit... So long as they collectively agree on where to take the airship, that is.
Threads are still ongoing but as we are now April, a conclusion is necessary for the game to continue. We will continue the threads to their conclusion, but the results are as follow:
• Characters in SL-27 may or may not have encountered Kalki (this will be threaded out). In either case, the Crystal they found went out of control and proceeded to crystallize the entire facility along with a portion of the island.
• Characters successfully escaped with the Enterprise from the Research Facility. Ultima WEAPON awakened and escaped from the facility as well. All the Moogles and soldiers left in the facility are considered to be crystallized at best, dead at worst. Characters had to briefly fight Ultima WEAPON from the airship, but then the weapon fled and its status is currently unknown.
• The crystallization of the Research Facility and of a portion of the island is why Shoopuf Airline and Civilian Mognet went down for the second half of March.
• The Crystal of Earth was lost when the facility crystallized and its status is now unknown. This is why all new characters now respawn by the Crystal of Fire upon dying. It means Kalki can no longer receive new Heroes of Light through the Crystal of Earth. Furthermore, with the facility crystallized, the status of all the characters who were kept there in Crystal Stasis is also unknown.
The Chocobo Eater quest has been completed! The quest to capture every monsters however, has been started but not completed yet. Alas, the Monster Arena cannot fully re-open until this quest is fulfilled. The old man in charge and his moogle will show their disappointment to anyone passing by and request (more insistently) for this quest to be completed.
Capture Every Monster!
One of each existing monster has to be captured, with the exception of Hamsters as defeating them is very hard right now. You do not have to log your character capturing weak monsters, but it is recommended logging it when going against the powerful ones (those with a lot of stars). Just reply here, but please be reasonable (it is doubtful a character could take on a Malboro alone or capture tons of monsters at once).
Reward: 7 000 Gils per captured monster. 2 000 for duplicates.
Reward: Job "Dancer" once one of every monster has been captured.
• April 01st - April 09th
Mognet will function normally for the Heroes of Light.
• April 10th - April 12th
The delay to receive and send Mognet letters will be twice as long as usual due to Civilian Mognet re-opening.
• April 13th - April 14th
Mognet will function normally.
• April 15th
A bug in Mognet Central will make it so that any mail sent by NPCs between them (Cid, Biggs, Wedge and Jessie) on this day will accidentally be distributed to all the Heroes of Light. The Staff of Mognet would like to apologize about that accident in advance.
• April 16th – April 21st
Mognet will function normally.
• April 22nd - April 25th
Mognet will function normally.
• April 26th - April 30st
The Mognet Office of Aqures Ixen will go into strike. Any letters sent from or to the Region of Aqures Ixen will not pass until the end of the strike.
All Heroes of Light have a permit allowing them to board Airships from Shoopuf Airline© for free. Shoopuf Airline is a civilian company handled by Hypello. At this point in time, the following cities can be reached thanks to Shoopuf Airline: Balicea, the County of Flence and Trano Golsaucia. To reach Aerilon, one has to rent a ship at Balicea and access the city by sea. A special airship is dedicated to going from Esdham to Aqures Ixen. All Imperial Territories are off-limits.
As Airships stop by four cities, it takes them approximately 12 hours to go from their departure point to their arrival point. Chocobos are allowed to board airships.
