Event: The Answer

On the night from April 19th to April 20th, certain characters will lose consciousness and disappear, only to wake up in the Southern half of the Continent of Balance, right in the midst of Imperial Territories… Reasons for this are unexplained, and while going back to Aqures Ixen should be easy under normal circumstances, it will not be in this case. The Heroes of Light will not be able to use their transportation skills; more than that, they will encounter all too familiar things...

The sign-ups for this event are open till April 17th. The Event itself will start on April 20th. Feel free to use this post for plotting purposes. Should you have any questions, ask them in the appropriate thread!



After passing out, the characters will wake up in Imperial Territories, in small groups composed from three to six Heroes of Light. All the groups will wake up in an unique location and will have to go through different ordeals in order to get back to Aqures Ixen. Some of them might meet strange NPCs who know more than they should. Some of them may wake up by a small village, ancient ruins or Nabila. Some of them may even wake up by the outer rim of the crystallization process and see with their own eyes the Calamity as it slowly devours Crystallis.

The common point between all these situations is that whatever the Heroes of Light will encounter, it will somehow pertain to their personal histories, and more specifically to their home worlds. Whether it’s meeting Doppelgangers, having visions involving things from home or encountering all too familiar situations--- What they will go through will show a connection between their home and Crystallis. Be aware that if you sign-up, the event may be emotionally compromising for your characters. You shouldn’t expect the Doppelgangers to have happy lives or meet with happy endings, or the NPCs to be friendly or for what events will cross their path to be optimistic and cheerful. To be frank, this event will not paint an optimistic vision of the world, whether it is their homeworld or Crystallis.

However… Before long it will become evident that someone or something is behind all of this, and whoever this person or entity is, they bear no love for the Heroes of Light. After all, this string of event is much too perfect. What are the odds for the Heroes of Light to wake up near things that hold personal significance to them? For these Doppelgangers and Events to be on their path? Surely there is a mastermind behind this, but who and why anyone would do this? How the event will evolve and the characters’s actions will determinate whether or not this mastermind will be found out.



You can sign-up as many characters as you want! However, only two of the characters you sign-up will see things related to their homeworlds and their personal stories. For the sake of the event, they will be referred to as “Focus Characters.” If you sign-up a third, fourth and so on character, they will not see things pertaining to them personally, besides maybe small references. However, they might still play a big role! Having characters who won’t be emotionally compromised and who will be able to stand for their friends may change how things evolve. It is also an occasion for them to see a glimpse of their friends’ pasts or emotions. For the sake of the event, they will be referred to as “Support Characters.”

You are free to make your own group or to ask the moderators to randomize it, just reply to the appropriate thread below. If you choose to make your own group, ideally you should try to make it balanced. A group made of six Focus Characters might be very heavy, not to mention complicated to play with. On the other hand, a group made of six Support Characters might be somewhat boring as they won’t encounter anything particular on their way back to Aqures Ixen.

Sign-Ups end on the 17th, and the Event will start on the 20th. A second OOC post will be posted after the sign-ups end but before the event begins, with the finalized groups as well as with their starting location and predicament. Any limits placed on their Jobs or capabilities will be mentioned in this OOC post.



• Triple Exp
Anyone participating in this event will have triple experience for the month. Practically speaking, this means their equipped Jobs will progress of three months instead of one!

Because this is a particularly heavy event, there is an exception for players with three or more characters. Your third character (and beyond) only need to pass AC to earn the Triple Exp bonus if you have already signed-up two characters for the event.

I have a quick question regarding the technical aspect of the event! Will the players of Focus characters receive hints to expand upon when developing their stories, or will it be handled in the way of more rigid scenarios like in the Enemy Within event? I know the latter sounds insane in terms of mod work required, but it's not like you guys haven't surprised us in the past.

I understand we'll get more details in the post to come, so I'm mostly curious about the general direction of things.

Preferences: PERFECT OPPORTUNITY FOR THINGS. I don't have any preferences/prefer-not's in terms of what Sephiroth might be presented/emotionally compromised with and I feel like he needs the shake up that might come from it. For a long time I've been tip-toeing with the 'hm, I'm not sure if I want to push him -that- far' and it's about time something tipped/snapped/broke.

I'd prefer it if at least one other person in the group had at least some closer-CR with Sephiroth if only to attempt and temper what reactions there might be. To suggest specifics as I don't run a CR chart: Vincent or Lydia spring to mind; there could be others...if it's not workable though, it's not a priority. I didn't want to form a group specifically though as I'd like the chance for some new CR.

As far as being grouped with people, it would be awesome to have Luffy stuck with people he knows really well so that whatever comes up has more of an impact. If not, that's fine, too.

Lust is entirely event-optional, in that you're welcome to leave her out of the event, or toss her into a group if that helps to balance the numbers in a way that seems appropriate.

Also she'd love to play around with her new mind-control powers.

Group Planning - Duster & pals

There's some consensus that Aya, Duster, and Minato will form one group, but Aya-mun and Duster-mun are thinking of both being focus characters, which means the remaining group members have to take being support characters into consideration. Any thoughts?

Like I said on plurk, three sounds like a good number, but I wouldn't be opposed to anyone hopping in if they want the CR or whatever. I'm just leaning more towards Aya being a focus if no one minds!
