— Crystallis Will Be Destroyed in Five Months —
Hello everyone, it's time for the monthly information post again! Christmas is around the corner once again, meaning nothing drastic is going to happen this month besides Christmas things! Should you have any questions regarding this month's happenings, please feel free to post them here.
Christmas in Crystallis || December 01st
Long ago, back when the Calamity from the Skies had descended upon Crystallis to destroy this world, most of the Ancients perished. Few adults survived and by the time the Heroes of Light appeared to fight the calamity, a lot of the surviving children had lost everything. One of the Heroes of Light refused to fight and instead decided to take care of the children. He wanted to help them forget about the events that had transpired-- To make them happy, even if for only a short amount of time. According to the legend, the name of this man was "Santa Claus."
This Hero of Light didn't have the power to accomplish this on his own. Yet he said this didn't matter, he claimed all that was needed was a bit of kindness and 'Christmas Spirit,' and so he asked the Moogles for help. Following the betrayal of their king and his death, the Moogles were left ravaged, leaderless and on the brink of despair. They replied to Santa's request for help, and after some convincing, they did as he asked. On the night from the 24th to the 25th of December, the Moogles brought presents to all the children. The presents weren't much, but they were enough to bring a smile to their faces.
The Moogles enjoyed doing this so much, most of them decided to keep taking on request and delivering the things people needed. And this is how Mognet came to be. The Primal Moogle on the Continent of Ruins speak of the same legend, but with a difference: they didn't bring the presents but they made them, which lead to the creation of Mogshop.
Or so do the legends say anyway. Is this true? No one knows. The only certainty is that on every December, the inhabitants of Crystallis celebrate what happened then and call it the "Starlight Celebration," though some regions keep calling it differently-- Christmas in Flence, Balicea and Mysidia or Noël in Esdham. But the idea is the same: for people to celebrate together this beautiful event and offer gifts to each other on the 25th of December.
Starting on the 01st if December, the cities of Aqures Ixen, Balicea and Mysidia will be decorated as per Christmas tradition: christmas trees will be present, and so on. Trano Golsaucia will have no decorations due to the recent events, Aerilon will have some decorations as well and while Esdham do celebrate, the city will not have any decorations. Furthermore, as a reminder, Aqures Ixen and Trano Golsaucia are covered with snow.
The New Santa Clauses || December 01st - December 25th
Something unexpected has happened this year: the world started crystallizing! Thankfully the crystallization ended but something even worse happened, Calamity Monsters appeared! Under such conditions, the Moogles are afraid they will not be able to deliver the various packages and gifts they're supposed to deliver for Christmas... And that's where the Heroes of Light come in!
Starting December 01st, the Heroes of Light will all receive a letter asking them to be the new Santa Clauses and take on the delivery Job. Those who accept will be told to go to Mognet Central to take on their new duties and start their new lives as Santa Clauses! As no Airships go to Mognet Central, the Heroes of Light will have to use one of the following means to get there:
- A special Moogle Carriage. It is basically a seat with four study ropes attached to it, four Moogles each holding onto one of the rope and carrying the passenger to Mognet Central. It might be a bit scary to be sitting on this while going above the ocean...
- An Airship for Sky Pirates, those who purchased one or those who work as pilots.
- A Golden Chocobo, the Sleigh from the Santa Claus Job or a Flight Module from the Mecha Pilot Job.
The flight abilities from Elite Trooper, Psychic and Air Bender Jobs can work as well, however given the very long distance to go through, it is not recommended. Boats can be used as well, but aren't very practical either. Illusionist can come back at will once they've gone there once.
Mognet Central is a place designed by Moogles for Moogles. Therefore the doors are small and accessing some rooms will require a lot of climbing as the facility isn't designed to accommodate people walking. As soon as they reach Mognet Central, the Heroes of Light will be given one of five costumes: a Santa Claus costume, a Mrs Claus Costume, A Chocobo Costume, a Little Elezen Helper Costume or a Snowhypello costume. The Moogles will be the one picking the costume ICly and they'll refuse to listen to any complaints, but OOCly you are the one making the choice. It means it is very possible for very tall characters to be asked to wear an Little Elezen Helper costume or for male characters to be asked to wear the Mrs Claus costume.
Afterward, the characters will be tasked with delivering packages and gifts all around the world in a formidable fashion all during the month of December. How you do it is up to you: there will be no Logs or Event OOC Posts for this, so it's entirely up to you if you want to play with this. Characters may ask to have a Moogle Carriage carrying them around while they're delivering gifts, however they'll then be expected to defend the Moogles if anything happens.
Winter Activities || December 01st - 31st
The Starlight Celebration is a worldwide event celebrated everywhere: as such, more than any others, this month will have activities your characters can take part in.
Christmas Markets (Mysidia, Balicea)
Are you looking for gifts, decorations or souvenirs? Or maybe you just want to admire the beauty of illuminated markets past nightfall-- It is very beautiful after all and there are plenty of things to find, and sometimes for great prices. If so, those Christmas Markets are perfect for you! The market at Balicea offers better prices and while there is also a Christmas Market at Aerilon, there are no decorations and it is overall much less friendly compared to the other one.
Hiring Security Guards (Trano Golsaucia)
Have you dreamt of being killing monsters while singing Christmas songs? Or maybe you'd like to chase bandits in a one Chocobo open sleigh? Well, that's your opportunity! As it is re-opening on the 10th of December, Trano Golsaucia is hiring people willing to defend the city from Calamity Monsters all while spreading the Christmas cheer. It's a well paid job, all in the Christmas, or rather Starlight spirit!
Visiting Santa (Trano Golsaucia)
Have you ever dreamt of meeting Santa? Yes? Then your dream may come true in Trano Golsaucia! Many Santas are working to listen to the children's wish list. Or maybe even to the grown-up's. Either way, this city is a dream for children, even more so at this time of the year.
Fighting Santa (Esdham)
It is said that Esdham does the Starlight Celebration wrong. This is probably true as it is custom for people fighting in the coliseum to do it with a Santa Claus costume. Seeing Santa Clauses fighting each other is a sight to behold at least once. Or maybe you can even get into one of the battles and don the Santa costume or Job for the occasion.
Christmas Carols (Everywhere)
Christmas music is generally considered beautiful and unique, and the Starlight Celebration has tunes similar to what people familiar with Christmas may know. Such music can be heard in all the major cities for the entirety of the month.
Hypello Choir (Balicea)
There are people singing Christmas Carols in Balicea as well, but this city is quite unique in that the choir is composed of Hypellos and Tarutarus exclusively. Between the voice of most Tarutarus and the accent of Hypellos, no Starlight Celebration is complete without hearing this choir at least once.
Ice Skating (Trano Golsaucia, Aqures Ixen)
With very low temperature comes snow and ice. Outdoor ice skating can be practiced in Trano Golsaucia and Aqures Ixen as well, and for free! This is not exclusive to the Starlight Celebration, as Ice Skating will last up until January.
Christmas Plays (Mysidia)
There are Christmas plays everywhere, but Mysidias' are by far the best ones. The best Christmas Play is called "The True Story of Mrs. Claus" and relates the story about how Mrs Claus is actually the one who creates the Christmas Spirit.
The Starlight Celebration || December 24th - 25th
Late in the afternoon of the 24th and continuing into the evening, the festivities for the Starlight Celebration will begin. Banquets, Christmas dinners, choirs singing Christmas Carols and people disguised as Santa Claus-- It looks like Aqures Ixen is giving it its all on the 24th, but even more awaits for the 25th! And who knows, maybe Santa will have brought your character something? They say he doesn't exist, but... It is also traditional for people to spend the Starlight Celebration among friends and family, warm at home late in the evening. So after the celebrations of the 24th are done, it might be a good idea to go back home and spend time with friends.
The New Year || December 31st
While the passing from a year to another isn't as big of an event as the Starlight Celebration, it is still celebrated with fireworks in all major cities. There are gatherings of people in Aqures Ixen and Mysidia in particular, if only to conclude what is one of the most celebrated week in the year, and wish to each other the best possible year to come.
The Enterprise will from Aqures Ixen and go all the way to Mysidia at midnight-- So New Year lasts even longer than normal thanks to the magic of timezones. There will be a Ball aboard the Enterprise and all characters are invited!

The new quest of the Monster Arena isn't part of any event and there is an indefinite amount of time to complete it. Those wishing to claim the rewards for this quest have to log and at least two characters must participate in one of these fights, with a maximum of eight characters being allowed to participate in a fight.
Capture Calamity Monsters
The old man in charge of the Monster Arena has heard of the Calamity Monsters and is actually very excited at the idea the Monster Arena is about to be contaminated by the Calamity. The moogle who works with him is noticeably less excited about it... He already has every species of monsters in the arena, but now he'd like to have every single Calamity versions for each of the monsters. It might not be easy as even a Calamity Geezard is more dangerous than a regular T-Rex or Behemoth. Duplicates will not be accepted so make sure to hunt
Reward: The reward is one of the following. You can participate in two different capture to get both rewards however you can only get each reward once (you cannot get two golden tickets or two experience chalices). Only your character can use the reward, you cannot give it to another character.
- Golden Ticket (the owner is eligible for a free purchase at O'aka's shop upon presenting this ticket)
- Experience Chalice (a chalice that contains 15 months worth of experience for anyone with less than four maxed Jobs and who has been in the game for less than a year)

Mognet official papers and envelopes are decorated with christmas colors: blue, green and red. Furthermore, Moogles are strongly encouraged to wear a Santa hat and sing Christmas Carols upon delivering letters. Mognet Employees have to do the same.

Mognet will be closed for the Starlight Celebration. Moogles will deliver letters only if they want to.

All Heroes of Light have a permit allowing them to board Airships from Shoopuf Airline© for free. Shoopuf Airline is a civilian company handled by Hypello. At this point in time, the following cities can be reached thanks to Shoopuf Airline: Balicea and Trano Golsaucia. To reach Aerilon, one has to rent a ship at Balicea and access the city by sea. A special airship is dedicated to going from Esdham to Aqures Ixen. All Imperial Territories are off-limits.
As Airships stop by three cities, it takes them approximately 09 hours to go from their departure point to their arrival point. Chocobos are allowed to board airships. A special Airship this month will take the Heroes of Light to the village of Santa Claus whenever they want.

Advanced Custom Jobs are now available! It works much the same way as regular Custom Jobs. For you to request an Advanced Custom Job, you must have two Custom Jobs and build the Advanced Custom Job around these two Custom Jobs. Keep in mind however that equipping two Custom Jobs disables the ability to use Limit Breaks altogether.
Furthermore a Palitutu's Report is about to be unlocked and will be unveiled this month.
• Interdimensional Rift Portal
This project has been completed and will enter its final phase in January. However, this is a very dangerous project, as was indicated on the Research page. The warnings given by the Sage ICly and the warnings given OOCly shouldn't be taken lightly. If this project reaches completion, it will affect the entire game in radical ways and will have an impact on endgame and subsequently, on the ending of Melodies of Life. It might be controlled and in the best of cases might give the characters a small advantage, but it might also go out of control and forfeit any chance for the Heroes of Light to attain a good ending.
Therefore, everyone in the game is invited to vote on the matter. For the project to be completed, 51% of the playerbase must agree with it. You are invited to reply to the appropriate thread below to cast your vote. Please give careful consideration to this question and do not vote hastily without weighing the pros and cons.

For you to request an Advanced Custom Job, you must have two Custom Jobs and build the Advanced Custom Job around these two Custom Jobs. • Interdimensional Rift Portal
This project has been completed and will enter its final phase in January. However, this is a very dangerous project, as was indicated on the Research page. The warnings given by the Sage ICly and the warnings given OOCly shouldn't be taken lightly. If this project reaches completion, it will affect the entire game in radical ways and will have an impact on endgame and subsequently, on the ending of Melodies of Life. It might be controlled and in the best of cases might give the characters a small advantage, but it might also go out of control and forfeit any chance for the Heroes of Light to attain a good ending.
Therefore, everyone in the game is invited to vote on the matter. For the project to be completed, 51% of the playerbase must agree with it. You are invited to reply to the appropriate thread below to cast your vote. Please give careful consideration to this question and do not vote hastily without weighing the pros and cons.
