A New Hope: OOC Plotting Post

Hello, this post is for you to plot and coordinate everything about the current event, as the first event post is now getting a bit old. Refer to this post for previous plotting and event details.

As a reminder, all new characters + all those who were made prisoners back in January are prisoner in the Heran Research Center. A team will be attacking the Research Center, while another will be going in to rescue the Heroes kept prisoner inside. Meanwhile in the Imperial City, many characters are interacting with imperial agents, both to create distraction and further their own plans.

At the same time than the rescue team will attack, power will flicker in the research facility. Power will go on and off at intervals, meaning this would be the ideal moment for imprisoned characters to do whatever they have in mind. The doors won't magically open, so if they have a plan of some sort to get out, they will have to enact it.


This post will be updated as the event progress. Player plans and new enemies encountered relating to what is happening within the Research Facility will be posted here to make tracking things easier.

I lied. If one of the more tech saavy members of my group is first out the door, is there a switch in the halls to activate the doors or something of that nature to open them?

Olivier's electricity running things knowledge is outlets and lights. So she wouldn't think of it, but I have people in my group who might.

Also, What, roughly, is the floor plan. The captives have the room they woke up in, the dinner room, and the office--is there just ONE door separating those rooms, from the rest of the floor, or multiple door going out to the remainder of the floor?

No, but there is an emplacement for a keycard; so if they found the keycard, they could open the door in a definitive manner. It would be possible for someone tech saavy to play with the keycard emplacement, but it would take some time to get results (think one hour or more).

There is only door separating (the "elevator" door) these rooms from the rest of the floor, for security reasons.

So, essentially they would be escaping into the elevator shaft, since it's the only door? What were the other sealed exits mentioned?

We've made a mistake in our reply above-- There are indeed two doors, one of which is the elevator door, and the other that is the one with the keycard emplacement on the outside, leading to the remainder of the floor and the staircase. Sorry for the confusion.
