Event Wrap-Up

Hello everyone! Melodies of Life is a slow paced game and the ongoing event was supposed to last throughout most of the month, but as numerous players have expressed concerns regarding the event stalling and preventing further character interactions, we have decided to give it closure so that the game can continue to proceed normally. As of now, all characters can be considered to have safely reached Aqures Ixen. Considering how things have progressed so far, it is safe to say they reached Sub-Level 26 and used Cid's Airship to flee, though they may also have used the boat of the rescuers to flee-- Or maybe they died in the facility and respawned back in Aqures Ixen by the Crystal of Fire. Whatever the case, the Empire and the Research Facility are all now, once more, off-limit.

The event will still be modded. All ongoing threads will be played to their end and we will mod newly made threads if you want to explore more of the facility. We realize we have made mistakes with this event-- It was poorly structured on our end and we didn't communicate as much information as we should have. To make up for this, we have included more information in this post, should you want to explore other areas of the facility and discover more secrets relating to the plot. We apologize for this inconvenience.



All characters are now back in Aqures Ixen-- ICly, this would have happened by the 05th of March at the latest. Being in Aqures Ixen, new characters now have all the same rights and privileges than any other characters: they have their housing, they can post and receive mail from Mognet, they can request Jobs from Jessie, etc. Being in Aqures Ixen, it also means new characters can meet up with characters already in game at long last!

• Moogles
Upon arriving in Aqures Ixen, all the new Heroes of Light shall finally receive their assigned Moogle. However, exclusively for characters from this app round, you can choose for your Moogle to be one of those you have rescued from the Heran Research Center. Because they went through the same hell, the link between your character and your moogle may hence be stronger. If not, then the moogle will be a Mognet Employee from Aqures Ixen.

If you chose for your Moogle to be one of the rescued ones, they will start working for Mognet all the same (they may just be under some scrutiny given they come from the Empire).



As we have stated above, the characters did successfully escape using Cid's airship and/or the rescuers' boat. However, we are still going to play out the threads, as there are many things that can yet be found, both physical items and revelations that could affect the game in the long-term.

We have here a list of available floors in the facility, along with the soldiers that can be encountered throughout the facility. Should you want to explore a floor in detail, feel free to start a thread for said floor. If you need more details and want an in-depth exploration, then please reply to the appropriate thread below so that we can reply with the exploration details! Two things in particular are important to the plot and have to be played out: the characters meeting Cid and using the airship to flee, and the characters meeting the Professor Moogle, who will mention Sub-Level 27 to them.

• Meeting Thread
This thread is specifically for your characters to meet while they roam the facility: those trying to get out, and those trying to get in to rescue the prisoners. If you want to play out your characters meeting, feel free to use this thread!

• Airship Thread
This thread is for when the characters finally reach Sub-Level 26 and meet Cid; they will be able to escape using the airship. Using the airship is not their only option, as they can also get out using the boat the rescuers used to come. This thread will lead into a Boss Battle once the airship will be out of the facility. It's open to any characters, be they prisoner or rescuers.

• Sub-Level 27 Thread
While the airship is being prepared to leave, the Professor Moogle will meet with the characters and will tell them about Sub-Level 27. It's open to any characters, be they prisoner or rescuers. This thread is likely to be the heaviest one with plot revelations.



Any and all characters who went to the Imperial City will have been able to safely go back to Aqures Ixen. Indeed, the parley team managed to make contact with Kurma, a member of the Triumvirat actually working against Kalki. Doing so ensured everyone would be able to leave the city without being captured.

Threads will still be played out to their conclusions and revelations may still come!



• Double Exp
Anyone who went in imperial territories will have double experience for both February and March. Practically speaking, this means their equipped Jobs will progress of four months instead of two. New characters will have double Exp for March as well!

• New Job
Characters who went Imperial territory will have automatically received the Bard Job, with a three month bonus.

• Regain
As a compensation for the hardships they went through, Jessie will give a free regain to all characters who were stuck in imperial territories.

Wasn't entirely sure where would be the appropriate place to ask this, but I figured here was as good a place as any:

Chiaki obtained a book about crystals and the planet's energy from the research facility tour in the capital. Upon returning to Aqures Ixen, her intent is to read the entire thing cover to cover, taking notes and marking passages of interest where appropriate, and then taking all of that to Jessie to see what she thinks of it.

Essentially, she wants to know if this book matches up with the traditional or existing literature and research on this topic, or if there's something that should be regarded as biased or suspicious about the text. She's also just hoping to learn about the crystals and the energy conversion process in general - how it got started, whether it's safe, if the crystals are ever projected to run out of energy, whether or not they can be recharged if they do, how that's accomplished, etc.

(And if the energy conversion process is safe and sustainable, she may have additional questions about how to use it to power devices not of this world. Girl needs her games.)

I know they get thier powers working again as soon as they leave the level, but do their crystals gain a color at any point? If so, when?

The basic plan for the first scouting team is that Yuffie and Kenshin will knock out whatever guard they come across and steal their equipment, as long as they could knock them out that is. The question is what - if any - special equipment will they find after searching the guards? Any special crystals or something of that nature they will keep, though their carrying capacity will be limited.

Ah, belatedly, apologies - would it be possible to ask one of the moogles if they could provide some information about the various levels of the facility (particularly where their old gear might be)? (For, well, IC knowledge, etc.)

Hm- for the other floors- how are the crystalised Heroes of Light being kept? If someone did step onto 23, what kind of an encounter might that result in? And- for the Ultima WEAPON, can we get a description, for how recognisable it might be?

Can Terra offer to take care of those moogles that they rescued from the Empire? I know that the possibility of a moogle fan club is still in the air but I'd like for her to be able to help out and helping out moogles is the best way for her.

I had wanted to put it in a post when people were back and I wanted to make sure that was okay. Or what those little moogles were doing.

Has an IC reason for the Shoopuf Airline closures later in March been given?

Also, Hibiki is going to head back to Trano with the theater troupe and then to Aqures Ixen. Will she get her regain in Trano or when she gets back to Aqures Ixen? I doubt Jessie would come all the way to visit Hibiki herself, but would she send, like, a Moogle representative or something?

If your character was stuck in imperial territory (either as a prisoner, rescuer or just one of those visiting the imperial city), reply here for your regain:

To get a free regain, Jessie will give your character a White Crystal. While focusing, the White Crystal will cast a projection of the item they desire to regain. If the projection corresponds to the item they want to regain, Jessie will take the white crystal back and have the regain sent to them through Mognet within 48 hours.

The process to project the correct item with the White Crystal requires a bit of mental focus though. If the character fails to focus, Jessie will lose patience and pick something at random. If you want your characters' regain to be out of their control and something they possibly didn't want, this is the way to do it.
