Event: Doppelgangers

Overnight from April 16th to April 17th, the Heroes of Light will have a shared dream. However, unlike the one in February where they were spectators watching through Kalki's eyes, they will be actors in this dream. They will find themselves in the body of a Hero of Light 2000 years ago, both witnessing events and reenacting something that happened back then. But these Heroes of Light won't be just anybody; they will be people from their homeworlds... Or maybe themselves.

Because of the nature of the event, each player can only sign-up to two characters for this. The deadline to sign up is the 17th.



The dream will depict events that happened over two thousands years ago, when the Heroes of Light were then at war against the Calamity from the Skies. Therefore, the dream will shed some lights on what happened back then, but may also reveal what is about to happen to your characters in the real world. There will be a multitude of small scenes and maybe some bigger ones-- It all depends on how many players will sign-up for this, and what characters will be involved.

The former Heroes of Light can be either your own character, or a character from their homeworld. This dream will be interactive, so you will have to play it out. Meaning if you pick someone from your character's homeworld, you will have to play said character for the duration of the dream. If you don't feel up to the task however, you can just have your character be one of the former Hero of Light. However, you can decide to go for a different canon point.

In the case of game transplants, their former game does count as a homeworld as per Crystallis' rules. Therefore, CRAU characters can chose to be one of the characters from their former game as well.

• Progression
If you have played Final Fantasy VIII and know of the Laguna Dream Sequences, it roughly works the same way, except that this time your character has a lot more control on the action of your predecessor.

Essentially, this will to an extent be akin to a lucid dream. For example, If Character A dreams he is Character B, even though Character B will behave as himself for the dream, he will be able to hear some of Character A's thoughts and at times, Character A will even be able to influence Character B's actions. For Character B, it will be akin to hearing whispers in his mind sometimes, and have them influence his actions.

It is not an absolute however. Your character doesn't have to try and influence how their predecessor behaved.

• The Dream
We will not divulge the content of the dream yet. As we said, it'll be based on how many characters sign up, and who said characters are. We will message all characters with a summary of what will happen in their section of the dream, and how their predecessor behaved / what they will do. In essence, the dreams are like a puzzle and we'll hand out to every of you a piece of said puzzle.

However, this will not take into account your character influencing their predecessor: so things may differ drastically from the expected scenario in the end.

• Double Exp
Anyone participating in this event will have double experience for the month. Practically speaking, this means their equipped Jobs will progress of two months instead of one!

Since only a limited number of characters can sign-up for the event, for those of you who play multiple characters, it is possible to get Double Exp for all of your characters. If you have signed up two characters for this event, your other characters will get Double Exp if they capture a new monster for the Monster Arena.

• Advanced Jobs
Following the end of the event, Advanced Jobs will be available to characters.

Are there any limitations on what characters we can play from our characters' home worlds for the dream? For example, is a person that our character is close friends with allowed, or would you prefer for us to choose someone who is less likely to be apped into the game later?

Do we get to decide what Jobs our character's predecessor has equipped in the dream? What levels are they considered to be at in said Jobs?

I know it's possible for the character to e themselves from a different canon point, but would it be possible for Ib to be from a different ending?

Specifically, Garry dies and Ib takes his lighter, burns Mary's painting and escapes on her own.

I have a question! I'm hoping to sign up a nonhuman character for the event, specifically a (estimated) fifteen foot tall dragon.

For nonhuman characters - I understand it's possible to have them downsized and retain their features, but is it also possible for them to show up as human if they're shown to have a canon human form?

(This. Is mostly because my mind is trying to imagine how job outfits would work for her as her normal dragon self. In some cases, I am failing to keep a straight face.)
