Hello all! It's time to identify those unidentified flying saucers that keep popping up in the Intro posts. We're doing it.

IC, the event will take place between Jan 10th-15th. Characters will be trying to contact the aliens that have been abducting cows and chocobos. It might take a while to find them again.

The basic idea is that characters who have been wanting to see some aliens will try to purposefully get abducted so that they can meet the aliens and try to  form an alliance with them. The best way to do this is for characters to disguise themselves as livestock, because of course.

If you would like to participate, please use this post to sign up your character. Let me know who you're sending, what their jobs will be, and if they have any useful-seeming skills (Illusionist's ability to disguise themselves, Scholar's translation or IC knowledge of other languages, the ability to summon Reese's Pieces, etc.  Also, if you have a burning desire for your character to be disguised as a certain animal, you can also put that? Disguises can either be magical illusions or straight-up costumes. Have fun.

Hi, everyone!  It's time for part 2 of the Temple of the Heroes of Light to go up.  This one is open to anyone and everyone who wants to explore the Temple or take part in the fight occurring there (more on that later).  I'll be putting a new IC log up for this soon.  Basically, there will be three big threads: two for general exploration and one for a boss fight.  The exploration threads will have toplevels containing descriptions of the interior of the Temple that have been provided by the mods, and will be general open RP threads for exploring those two paths.  These threads will not be modded, so everyone can just feel free to play among themselves.

The one that needs some special attention is the third thread, which will be a boss fight against the spirits of the original thirteen Heroes of Light.  Winning this fight will give our characters the ability to summon the knights one time against Garland to break down his defenses and give us a chance to defeat him.  They only have enough power to manifest once, so this is essentially a fight to prove our strength and worthiness.  This thread will be fully modded once it gets going.  The characters are aware that this combat trial awaits them, as it would have been explained previously to Chiaki's group and relayed out to everyone else.

The fight itself will be 13 of our best Heroes of Light vs. the spirits of the original 13, so we'll need to decide who to send.  The mods have warned that this will be a tough fight and will not be scaled down if we forget to bring a White Mage, so we'll also need to plan accordingly and send a group with balanced strengths and defenses.  There is no permanent death for losing the fight, but our characters do not know this, and they'll be led to believe that this is life or death.  If defeated, they'll appear unharmed outside the Temple with the entrance permanently locked.  So while there's no risk of death, losing does mean we don't have access to the 'power' to defeat Garland.

Feel free to use this post for plotting and figuring out who we're going to send, who's going to equip what, and so on.

Forgive the delay in getting this up but I've been a bit tied up in the real. In any case a while back Kidd uncovered evidence of the existence of the Diamond Weapon in the north of the Lost Continent. She sat on the information at first, only speaking of it to people she trusted out of concern primarily of a leak or an overzealous response.

The vision by the Sage offered her an example of the fear she didn't want to consider. One of the Heroes deciding to use it against a civilian population.

However, with the Calamity encroaching there is no further time to mull things over. The choices are to leave it and let the Calamity have it or find it and do something about it. Of course, there's the risk of Palitutu wanting it, but her intel as of late has been saying otherwise.

In any case, the call went out some weeks ago looking for support in locating it and, if necessary, destroying it. Of course there are a few who seek to add it to the Heroes' arsenal, especially as Palitutu has the Ultima Weapon.

This plot begins on the 25th and will go up as soon as I am able. Due to the approach of Anime Next on June 10th and my obligations to it, Malik's player will be my second on this plot.

Here we are, the long awaited OOC post for Cloud's second field trip to the Chocobo Forest. For all the new players, or those who missed it last time, Cloud and the others had gone to the Chocobo Forest to find a cure for the sickness his own bird was suffering from. What they found was a boy and a moogle who told them the legend of the Chocobo's Paradise and the Fat Chocobo and a chocograph that Chocoboy and Mene presumed to be a clue to it. In the end, a few of the birds had a vision of the Chocobo's Paradise and awoke to find their plumage colors changed.

Cloud will be leading another trip down to see if they can uncover more clues and also just see how Chocoboy and Mene are doing. All are welcome to come, even those who have not yet met Cloud or only met him briefly. The trip will last from the 20th to the 24th, so people will be back in time for the Diamond Weapon Hunt. The log post for this trip will go up sometime this weekend depending on how much time I have free.

Anyone who wants or needs to catch a chocobo of their own, there will be a thread set aside in the log for that as well.

To review the color progression:

Yellow -> Blue or Green (Water or Mountain) -> Black (Both) -> Gold

However this doesn't apply to birds who have alternate colors from the wild with no powers. They are still considered "Yellow" for the intents of this mechanic. Also, the chocobo ranch does have bird safe feather dyes available for those who want to change their bird's color for purely cosmetic purposes.

If you have any questions, feel free to pop them in here.

On May 1st, a special announcement was delivered to everyone's mailboxes from the old man who runs the arena. A rich donor has commissioned the capture of a behemoth for the Monster Arena, and to herald this exciting new arrival, he has issued a prize package of 50,000 gil and two elemental-type crystals of the slayer's choice to anyone who can defeat it single-handed. Of course, if a team wanted to go after it instead, that would also be acceptable. However, in doing so, the prize is reduced to 25,000 gil, and must be split among the victors.

Five days after doing battle with the Behemoth, regardless of whether a victory was secured or not, all participants will come down with a cold, that will rapidly worsen into the flu. This sickness is highly contagious, and will affect anyone who has a Crystal. In other words, regular citizens can't catch the disease, but all Heroes of Light can.

The effects of the illness can range from comical to serious, and may even cause death if you so desire. However, characters who die from the sickness and crystallize will not be healed after their week-long hibernation. They'll have the symptoms all over again. A cure must be found, before everyone falls victim to this debilitating disease.

Participation is optional. Some characters just won't get afflicted for some reason. In fact, characters who are active in being Heroes of Light (working at the lab, slaying monsters, rescuing villagers) and who don't engage in social activities, mundane jobs, or other activities that their foe considers to be a 'waste of time,' may find themselves oddly immune. If you want to know if your character qualifies for immunity, go ahead and ask, but know that those who would pass the test are few and far between. However, if your character fights the behemoth, they'll catch the sickness no matter what. So if you don't want your character to get sick, they'd better not go to the Arena.

Feel free to use this post to designate which of your characters get sick (or won't), fight the behemoth, or do other activities relating to the plot. If you have any questions, respond to the 'Questions' comment. Have fun!

A few weeks ago, Twilight Sparkle made the call to the Heroes to help investigate the Lunar Gate. Of course, in the two weeks since then, things have changed towards the Heroes, in particular their mysterious disappearance and the revelation that the Heroes of Light's purpose isn't that altruistic. This has only fueled Twilight's desire to investigate the Lunar Gate and see what they can find. Of course, arriving there, they just might find some things that are quite recognizable...

This plot is set to run ICly between May 3rd and May 10th, thus those who want to participate in the Triple Triad event will be able to. Thanks to her Super OCD plotting this, she's requested other Scholars, those with the Teleport ability and some fighters to assist her in her investigations. Of course, just how much they'll be needed depends on how much they discover...

To toss your character's hat into this, just sign up below! Please be gentle - it's my first plot :P

Reports of particularly dangerous creatures will begin to crop up on the quest board. These strange monsters will be different from their bestiary counterparts, in that they will be much bigger, and/or stronger, and/or possess souped-up capabilities that they probably shouldn't. Details of the monsters and the locations where they were spotted will appear one by one on the quest board, so keep an eye peeled for the Sinister Seven, appearing in the following order:

Aqures Ixen - Giant Bomb - (Defeated by Saori, Kidd, and Graham)
Flence - Colossal Cockatrice - (Defeated by Ichigo, Rukia, and K'pandolu)
Trano Golsaucia - El Grande Ochu - (Defeated by Deadpool, Erika Kurumi, Pyrrha Nikos, Logen Ninefingers, and Johnny D'Amico)
Roalie - Skullcrushing Skeleton - (Defeated by The Adventurer)
Cactuar Island - Mega Cactuar - (Now Active! Time Limit to Complete: February 28th)
Aqures Tosf - Super Tonberry - (Now Active! Time Limit to Complete: February 28th)
Mysidia - The Indominus Rex - (Now Active! Time Limit to Complete: March 7th)

Characters who go off to hunt these monsters will need to post a log of them doing so, and are free to write the monsters themselves, or you can ask me to NPC them (so long as you know that I might be slower than you are). If you'd like to run the encounter yourself, let me know, and I'll give you the details regarding what can be found in the area, and where. If there's anything else your character is going to do regarding this sudden outbreak of mega monsters, by all means, give me a shout!

In the meantime, feel free to form hunting parties. The monsters will be showing up one at a time, so if you're feeling truly ambitious, your character could very well go after all seven. The usual threads for plotting and questions are included in the comments. Go nuts!

After the battle with Whitebeak some months back, Cloud's chocobo Zack had fallen ill from an infected wound during the fight. Thankfully he did not turn rabid himself but the care that he's been given at the chocobo ranch has only served to stabilize his condition. While it doesn't seem there's anything that can be done at the ranch to help him, Cloud has heard rumors about the Chocobo Forest far to the south. While he is hoping mainly for a cure for his companion's condition, there are also fanciful rumors of a secret there being able to grant a chocobo new skills and abilities.

It will be a long trip, and one not easily taken alone with a sick bird. Cloud will be sending out letters to all his friends, especially those he knows who are fond of the avian steeds. An IC log will be up later as well for anyone who wishes to stop by the ranch as well. Anyone who has a vehicle to help in transporting a sick chocobo is more than welcome to join the expedition.

The trip will start on the 1st and end on the 6th. The trip will not overlap with any other plots going.

Once I have the information from the mods, the post will go up on the 31st. Threads will be set up according to the information I'm given. If you have any questions feel free to contact me at [plurk.com profile] tazrael.

It's time for another Player Plot~

...Look, Ellie's got a lot of plots and schemes and so do I, okay? Okay. So here's the basics.

WHO: I need to be picky about who's going to sign up, since she's taking on people who are either candidates for her future quasi-villain team, or ridiculously gullible who wouldn't question her motives and keep a tight lip on what goes down. I can give you IC reasons for these things, but essentially, I'm trying to build up her secret identity as the Brigand Leader and it wouldn't be fun if someone blew her cover before it even began. Save that for later!

WHAT: The mission is to break the prisoners out of the Heran island jail before they get eaten by the Calamity. Naturally this would make for poor PR if it were discovered that heroes were setting loose criminals, so they need to stage this as if they're "stealing" Ashe's submarine, and liberating people undercover. Ellie's going to make some arrangements in order to jail the prisoners elsewhere, possibly in Aerilon, and she will. (But not ALL of them, only the ones who aren't interested in joining her brigand guild. But you don't need to know this, shhhhhhh.)

WHEN: The actual prison break takes place in January (I haven't picked the exact date, but probably earlier in the month. It could be as early as January 1st to take advantage of any guards at the prison who celebrated the new year a little too hard). So why am I bringing it up now? Because if you want into her crew, your character needs to be on her good side. That means building CR with her. She's not going to risk any unknown factors for a mission of this importance, since it demands the utmost secrecy. I will happily log anything you like, and if we don't finish by the day, we can OOCly work out the details.

WHERE: Probably not important. SAIL.

WHY: On the surface, to save lives, even if they're not innocent. For Ellie personally, she wants men to build her ranks which will lead to future criminal efforts. Conflict and plots for all!

So if you're interested, comment here and we can start plotting things out.

As explained in this month's information post, there will be a Chocobo Racing Invitational held in Aqures Ixen during the month of December.  While this is a legitimate competition, it's also a ploy by Levy and Bartz to lure Gilgamesh out of hiding, as the two have realized that he is not originally from Crystallis but somehow managed to get here before the Heroes of Light were summoned by Palitutu.  The idea is to lure him out by dangling his last defeat at the hands of Bartz - his eternal rival - right in front of him.  In the weeks leading up to the race, there will be posters going up everywhere advertising the race and making a big deal out of Bartz, the Returning Champion.  The winner of the race gets to compete against him for fame, glory, and the fancy Brotherhood replica sword he won from Gilgamesh during their last race.

The post itself will be split into two sections - one for the actual races, and another part for anyone who wants to try to corner Gilgamesh if and when he actually shows up.  The Gilgamesh encounter, should it occur, will be run by the mods as it deals with an NPC.  But the race is all up to the players, and is a chance for the Heroes to have a good time racing and competing with each other.  In fact, the more people who enter, the better it will look, and will probably be a more tempting opportunity for Gilgamesh.  To that end, this post will be used as a sign-up for any character who wants to enter the race.  Sign-ups are open as of this post, and will remain open through 11:59 PM EST on December 9th to give everyone time.

For the ease of threading, the race itself will be organized into a single elimination tournament with one-on-one races, with the overall winner going up against Bartz.  Anyone is free to enter, and feel free to assume your character is able to rent a chocobo for the race if they don't already have one of their own.  The match-ups will be posted on December 10th so that players will have some time to plan out the results of the races, which can be threaded out or the results handwaved when the plot post goes up on December 12th, which is also the IC day of the race.  As for anyone interested in trying to capture Gilgamesh, feel free to assume that the true purpose of the race has been quietly communicated among the Heroes of Light by Levy, so anyone can get in on that too.  Also feel free to use this post to plot for that, so that the mods will have an idea of who's planning to be involved and how.

Hey gang! Dan here! (Player of Luffy, Tifa, Link, and Bulma)

I was very fortunate in having a plot that I proposed approved, so before I head out for the weekend to Nekocon (I run a LARP there with some fine folks, and many of our players here will be attending this weekend so wish them safe travels and good luck!), I figured I'd post here to give a bit of information in regards to just what is going to happen during the event.

Who: Monkey D. Luffy, his moogle Pakku, and those wishing to join him on the first journey out to search for the Queen. Any one and every one can take part in the event as (if things go accordingly) his new ship can hold many more than the previous vessel he had access to.

What: The time has finally come to set out and see where the Queen can be found. Along the way, the ship and her crew are cast away to an island just due West of Aquares Ixen. When they awake, their memories of their time in this world are gone, the last thing that they are able to recall is the memory just before their arrival in Crystallis. The effects of amnesia will last until the cause is discovered, of which can be found on the island they are marooned upon. With each passing day, more of their memories are lost. Important events to their canon, points before their arrival in Crystallis, all of which can be decided upon by each player. The source of this memory loss requires some investigation, but if characters do not find the cause by the 17th and extinguish it, well.. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.

When: Tuesday, the 10th of this month, lasting one week until the following Tuesday on the 17th.

Why: It's a chance to build CR with many different characters and players you hadn't had the chance to with before. Coming from a clean slate gives the chance for new CR, and even old CR to get a fresh start, or who knows what can stem from having to re-explain who you are and where you come from to some one you interact with quite frequently.

How: When the post goes live on Tuesday the 10th, hop on in and we'll set off and get things rolling! I'm going to post as NPCs and narration (like you see in other Player Plots), but feel free to go off and explore or start up threads with others to see where things go to! It's encouraged for sure!

Feel free to post with any questions or comments or even plotting. I'll have computer access over the weekends, or enough to at least field things before Tuesday rolls around.

Can't wait to hear from you all! Thank you very much!

-Dan

Hello all!  It's Halloween Month, and that means we need some spooky sidequests.

I've mentioned it in Plurk, but if I don't have everyone on my friend list, here's the basic idea: A quest will be posted on the fancy new quest board, asking the Heroes to examine a mysterious abandoned mansion. The rooms have plenty of tricks and treats for your characters to find. All character levels are welcome.

IC, the quest will be happening on Oct 27th (the night of the full moon). OOC, I'll probably try to get it started by the end of this week.

This is my first time running a plot, so I'm kind of making it up as I go. Depending on the number of sign-ups, I might be running the event on my own, or Faetan will be helping mod. Players can choose to run monster encounters on their own, or have us direct it (note, it'll run more quickly if you do it yourself, but we are happy to provide direction if you want).  This will be a slow-moving event, as I have to do the majority of my tags in the evening after work. I will not be able to tag on Halloween weekend, so there's that, too.

I'll take as many sign-ups as we get. I designed the mansion to be pretty large, so there should be adventure enough to share between party groups.

So let me know if you're interested!
